Amber Rae Anthony, whose life was turned upside down by the tragic death of her father, Amber Rae, has revealed how the night was the “worst” she ever had to endure.
“I have to say, I love you,” the former Nickelodeon star told CBC Radio’s Metro Morning.
“I’m so thankful to be with you.”
The 34-year-old actress was driving home from a date when she was approached by a man who told her he had a package waiting for her at a local gas station.
“He gave me the box and told me he was going to drop it off, so I opened it up and inside was a piece of paper,” she said.
“And I started crying.
And he put the piece of newspaper in my hand and I just cried.
I cried for so long, and then he came back and opened it, and I took it.”
Anthony said she was so moved by the news that she wanted to give it back to him.
“You could see the pain in his eyes, and the way he was holding it,” she recalled.
“The way he looked at it and he said, ‘That’s a piece, this is what you deserve.'”‘
It felt like I was losing my mind’After the accident, Anthony said she felt completely lost.
“It felt so strange, like I couldn’t find my way home,” she told Metro Morning, explaining that she was unable to sleep.
“It was the worst I’ve ever felt.
I didn’t know what to do.
I had this weird feeling that I was lost.
I couldn and didn’t want to go home.”
Anthony and her father were reunited in December of this year, after her mother had passed away.
“After that, I didn, for the first time, feel like I had found him,” she continued.
“But then after that I realized, he’s my best friends, and he’s not going to let me go.”
The two shared a laugh as they recalled the events leading up to the incident.
“When I was driving, my dad and I were going down the street, and it felt like we were going to lose him,” Anthony said.
“And he said to me, ‘You know, Amber, you really need to look out for each other.'”
She said she then took a moment to remember her father.
“At that moment, he said in my ear, ‘I loved you,’ and I cried,” she added.
Anthony said it took her three days to process the news.
“We talked about it a lot,” she recounted.
“He was like, ‘Don’t worry about me.
I’m going to make you feel better.'”
It was one of those things that made me think, ‘This is what life is all about.
I want to make it as good as I can.’
“Anthony said her dad told her it was “just a bad dream.””
Anthony recalled her dad telling her the next day that she would be okay.””
There was this kind of moment where I felt like, my father is going to give me back the car and he just gave me back my keys.”
Anthony recalled her dad telling her the next day that she would be okay.
“Then he just said, I really appreciate everything that you’ve done for me,” she remembered.
“So I thank you, and we were like, we’ll go to the movies tomorrow, and that was the day I went to the hospital.”
