Auctioneer Mike “Big Cat” Boggs will get his first $500 in the $1 million boat auction on Sunday.
The big cat memorabilia auction is part of the Big Cat & Co. show at the Huntington Sportsplex in Charleston.
It was Bogg’s first bid for a boat auction.
He says it’s the first time he’s ever done one.
He’s also the first to win.
The Big Cats boat auction, which will run from 2 to 10 p.m., will be sold by Big Cat Auction in a $1,000-per-ticket bundle.
Bogg will be auctioning a $400,000 “Boat of the Week,” which includes a $50,000 gift card to the Boat Club of America and a boat with a built-in radio, according to the auction catalog.
The boat was a “Tail of the Whale” with an 8-foot-long tail that is a favorite with the owners of the boat.
The Bogg boat has been used for boating for decades, and it’s owned by an Ohio resident who has spent more than $3 million in the sale, according the catalog.
He will receive a $100,000 loan for the purchase, which is subject to interest.
Bickman says the boat was bought at a sale of “the world’s largest fishing boat” in October, 2014.
He estimates the boat is worth $3.2 million, or $3,000 per day.
“I don’t know what it was worth at that time,” Bickmann said.
“It’s all gone now.”
He plans to spend $100 on a boat that he wants to keep, and $150 on a “big boat that’s a dream to own,” he said.
A few years ago, he bought a “Belly of the Beast” for $1.2, but didn’t put it in storage for much longer, Bickmans wife said.
Now he wants a “Big Beast.”
Bogg said he thinks his boat is the best one in the boat auction series, even though he’s not a huge fan of the other boats.
“This boat is definitely the best of the lot,” Bogg told The Associated Press.
“When I look at it, I think it’s a lot better than any of the others that are on the market.”
Bicksons wife, Amy, has been involved in the auction since the start.
The couple got married in 2016 and have three children.
“She always had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh, so when I was selling the boat I was always kind of in the back of the line,” Bicksons wife said of his winning bid.
“As a matter of fact, when we were selling the Boat of the Month, we were just sitting there with the boat and laughing and smiling and smiling, and he just had the best smile on his face and I was laughing with him.
He was a good guy.”
He said he and his wife, who are in their 80s, have bought and sold boats for more than 30 years and have never had a problem.
“He’s just one of those guys that loves the boat,” Amy Bick, who runs the boat auctions business, said.
She said Bogg is a very honest person.
“Big cats are really easy to relate to,” she said.
The auction is the first of a two-day series.
The first auction will be held on Oct. 28.
The second auction will run on Nov. 1.
The third auction will take place on Dec. 31.
The last two auctions have sold more than 1,000 boats.
Bickson said he’s also hoping to build a boat museum in his backyard.
The money he’s got for the first auction is going to be used to expand the museum.
“There’s a boat out there somewhere that’s worth more than a million dollars,” he told The AP.
“The way I see it, it’s about bringing the community together.”
