An auctioneer is in a race against time to close a Southern Auto auction that is set to become one of the most expensive car auctions in history.
The auction will be held on Saturday at the Beverly Hills Country Club.
If all goes as planned, the auctioneer said, the winning bidder will have $1.6 million to his name.
This is the second Southern Auto sale that has been on hold.
The previous one, in December, sold the rights to a 1957 Chevrolet Corvette, and the auctioneers are still trying to find a buyer for the original, 1953 Corvette.
Southern Auto said it will not reveal the exact price, which is expected to be $1 million.
When the car was originally sold, its condition was poor.
Its original paint was not strong enough to withstand the extreme temperatures and humidity of the Southern California summer.
It has since been restored to its original glory, and it was given a second chance at the auction by Southern Auto.
The car has been a favorite with collectors and is one of many cars in the collection of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
The buyer is not yet known.
