In 2018, the first year that auto auctions took place, the number of auctions was only slightly higher than in 2016.
However, the trend was not as strong as in previous years.
In 2016, nearly 30% of the auctions were for new vehicles, with sales of nearly 6 million cars, trucks and SUVs in the first quarter of 2018.
The trend was slightly down from a year earlier, with nearly 28% of all sales being for new cars.
In 2018 the highest number of auto auctions were in the United Kingdom, with more than 6,300 auctions.
This year, the United States is still the largest market with more auctions than any other country.
The top 10 markets for new vehicle sales were Germany (2,532), the United Arab Emirates (2 to 3,878), India (2.6 million), France (1.5 million), Austria (1,400,000), Italy (1 million), Spain (1 billion), and Japan (1 trillion).
The number of sales for cars and trucks is up from 2017, but sales of both vehicles and trucks are down slightly.
